Emotional Selena Gomez Stuns Audience at American Music Awards 2016

Yes, there was Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj,Ariana Grande,Gigi Hadid,Bruno Mars and a host of other celebrities present at the American Music Awards 2016.But the night truly belonged a brave, gorgeous ‘lady in red’ Selena Gomez.

Staying in rehab since August 2016, this was Selena’s first public appearance in months and finally her die-hard fans came to know what was happening in the singer’s life for the last 4 months.

Battling from Lupus for the last one year, the 24 year old took to the stage, to address various health complications including depression caused by Lupus, which can cause different diseases in different persons.

An emotional Selena Gomez addressed a stunned audience while accepting the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist award..with these words “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have Lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of Lupus, which can present their own challenges. I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.”

“In 2014 this stage was actually the first time that I was authentically, 100 per cent honest with all of you..I think it’s safe to say that most of you know a lot of my life whether I like it or not. I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.

“If you are broken you do not have to stay broken. And if that’s anything, whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me, is I care about people. Thank you so much for this.”

Her stunning speech left the star studded audience in tears apart from stealing the show from a highly charged Bruno Mars performing “24K Magic”, Nicki Minaj and The Veronicas who went topless, to get everybody’s attention.
