Tina Turner - Private Dancer(#ad)
After divorcing her husband Ike, Tina Turner went through several challenging years before the release of her single track that propelled her to become the most remarkable and crossover singer in the music and recording industry.
Private Dancer is the fifth studio album that Tina Turner released after going solo. The “Private Dancer” song was recorded and released to the public in May 1984.
The recording took place in a variety of studios in England and was overseen by Rupert Hine, Martyn Ware of heaven 17 and other two production teams.
Tina Turner is a remarkable vocalist who got her reward with the “Private Dancer” single. For a few years after the singer had been without a recording contract, no one ever thought that she could offer music fanatics such a great hit.
However, when the song was finally released to the public after all the obstacles, it became a tremendous hit worldwide.
“Private Dancer” was co-written by Jamie West-Oram, a lead guitarist on the Fixx and Rupert Hine who worked on several tracks on Private Dancer. The song and lyrics reflect Turners Belief in reincarnation.
After the “Private Dancer” was released in May 1984, it becomes a top 40 hit the following years. The song second side begins with a cover of another remarkable Tina Turner song “Let's Stay Together” which was released in late 1983.
In the following years, the song won four Grammy’s for Tina Turner, sold over eight million copies, and reached top 10 in music charts in over a dozen countries including Canada, the US, UK, Germany among others.
It reached 7th position on the US Billboard Hot 100. What followed after this huge popularity, was a worldwide tour dubbed the Private Dancer Tour, which included over 175 dates on three continents. It now has over 20,952,929 views on YouTube.

Album - Private Dancer
All the men come in these places
And the men are all the same
You don't look at their faces
And you don't ask their names
You don't think of them as human
You don't think of them at all
You keep your mind on the money
Keeping your eyes on the wall
I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money
I'll do what you want me to do
I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money
And any old music will do
I want to make a million dollars
I want to live out by the sea
Have a husband and some children
Yeah, I guess I want a family
All the men come in these places
And the men are all the same
You don't look at their faces
And you don't ask their names
I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money
I'll do what you want me to do
I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money
And any old music will do
Deutch marks or dollars
American Express will do nicely, thank you
Let me loosen up your collar
Tell me, do you want to see me do the shimmy again?
I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money
I'll do what you want me to do
I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money
And any old music will do
