"Cool Girl" is a track, sung by the Swedish singer and song writer Tove Lo from her second album Lady Wood.

Thanks to Island records, the song was released on August 4, 2016, for download after the record production duo The Struts (JakobJeristrom and LudvigSoderberg) successfully worked hand-in-hand with the star.

After its release, it became number 15 in Sweden where it was followed by it video being released on August 19, 2016. The song is about a cool girl interested in an open relationship instead of the traditional monogamous one.

ToveLo’s inspiration came from a scene from the film Gone Girl (2014) where the character Amy Elliott-Dunne goes from being a victim to a crazy nut job.

In the United States’ Hot 100, the track scored number 84 on their chart but leveled up on the US mainstream top 40 (The Billboard) by becoming number 39.

In Belgium (Ultratip Flanders), "Cool Girl" peaked at number 7 while Latvia (Latvijas Top 40) saw the music at number five.

At the United Kingdom, the track scored number 46 in the UK singles chart and so far, it has sold over 200,000 copies.

The music video was directed by Tim Erem was released on August 19, 2016, through ToveLo’s YouTube Channel, Vevo.

The video shows the star dancing on top of a car at a certain motel and another scene where her she dances at a desert on top of a display case with her head shaved clean.

Globally, the track can be watched via YouTube,with 47.3 million views to date."Cool Girl" has more than 400k likes and 20k dislikes, which in itself is a good indication, that "Cool Girl" is indeed a very popular video in the YouTube platform.

But some critics are not at all impressed with the music video,as they point out, the video lacks a certain degree of vigor...that is felt in the lyrics and the dance moves. Adding, the music video does not do justice to the song,music and lyrics of "Cool Girl".
