Some calling it a Bulgarian or Belgium folk song, other calling it a Persian or Turkish dialect while many have gone to an extent of saying,that Lisa Gerrard was filled with the spirit and was speaking in tongues.
Many Christian and Pentecostal churches have praised Lisa Gerrard for singing in tongues but not many know that Lisa is not a Christian herself and she started her singing career in the pubs of Melbourne in the mid 90s.
While the movie itself went on to become a global blockbuster raking in $457 million for a budget of $103 million in 2001.
It has to be noted that Hans Zimmer played a pivotal role in the movies success along with actors Russell Crowe , Joaquin Phoenix and director Ridley Scott.
Gladiator was nominated for twelve Oscars and won five of them including Best Picture of the year 2000 and Best Actor award for Russell Crowe.
