Plot
In the year 2000, the Oscorp scientist named Richard Parker recorded a video message that explained why he disappeared.
He and his wife Mary were on a private jet that’s hijacked by someone sent to assassinate Richard and Mary. The parents of Peter Parker die in a plane crash during the struggle after Richard uploads the video.
In the present Peter is fighting crime as the superhero Spider-Man. He keeps a promise made to his father by ending his relationship with Gwen at his graduation ceremony.
Harry Osborn is Peter’s childhood friend who returns to visit his ill father and Oscorp CEO named Norman. He gives Harry a device that he says includes his life’s work.
Harry later is transformed into the “Green Goblin” and is equipped with his father’s weapons and armor. He later figures out that Spider-Man is Peter Parker and promises he’ll have revenge.
He kidnaps Gwen and takes her to a clock tower. Peter defeats Harry but his webbing breaks and Gwen dies when she falls. This ends Peter’s career as Spider-Man.
About half a year later Harry is dealing with the effects of his transformation while he’s in jail. He gets a visit from his co-worker Gustav.
They talk about forming a team and Harry tells him to begin with Sytsevich. Later Sytsevich is broken out of prison.
He is equipped with electro-mechanical suit armor and is known as the Rhino. Peter decides to become Spider-Man again and confronts Rhino.

Review
This movie is a reboot of the film version of the original comic books from Marvel. However, the story of youth issues and growing powers are kept fresh by movie-makers.
This helps to explain why there’s even a second reboot of the franchise in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” released in 2017.
The second reboot includes the casting of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. It’s interesting that while the movie allegedly cost $200 million to make Spider-Man still uses some basic crime-fighting skills.
For example, he goes to work when he has a bad cold and humiliates a Russian gangster. So even though Spider-Man is a superhero he’s still grounded as a high school student.
It’s also interesting that the movie includes some complex emotional issues. Sometimes Parker ends his relationship with Gwen Stacy who doesn’t want to share Peter in his role as Spider-Man.
The superhero must also deal with new super-villains like Harry Osborn/Green Goblin and Max Dillon who becomes Electro in the movie.
It’s interesting that Harry and Max don’t actually want to be criminals. However, they are hurt and being evil seems to be their last option to deal with the situation.
Such moral dilemmas have always been more of an issue in Marvel’s universe than ones like Superman. It’s certainly one of the best reasons to consider this Amazon prime video.
In fact, it’s even possible that in theory, Spider-Man might have become friends in a different world. However, that’s not the case and possibly as a last resort and various situations he turns to a life of crime. The two battle towards the end of the movie.
Webb’s approach to directing the film takes some short-cuts and also takes some liberties that possibly shouldn’t be made.
That includes adding to the backstory of Peter’s parents. It challenges the origins story and while it helps to keep the franchise fresh there are some Marvel fans who might feel it was a bad decision.
However, it could be argued that the goal of the movie is to take the future into the future. One effective way to do that is to revisit things like the backstory involving the story of the protagonist and other characters.
However, there’s been some major criticism that Hollywood blockbusters sometimes aren’t based on a pre-existing intellectual property (IP) and is instead made to make hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office.
The argument is that such films are often made in order to make more films and spin-offs.
This might not be a problem for casual movie-goers. However, for those who are very familiar with the source material, there are question marks about the liberties from fans of the Spiderman comic books and Marvel in general. It’s basically the old issue of art versus commercialism.
Reception
The movie earned about $203 million in the US/Canada and about $506 in other countries. However, it only received a 52% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The main criticism of the movie was the story was unfocused and contained too many characters. The movie also earned a 53/100 score on Metacritic based on 49 critics based on mixed/average reviews.
If you're interested in download full movies the mixed reviews of the movie certainly make it worth considering. Although the movie has received some criticisms it’s also received praise for other aspects.
