How does it hold up as a sequel?
As a sequel to the previous Resident Evil movie, Apocalypse actually did very well. They upped the special effects so everything looked and seemed more real. There was also a lot more action and it made the film so much more fun to watch.
And best of all Resident Evil Apocalypse actually had a lot of scary moments, so as a horror film it did much better than the previous one. Alice will be helped by Jill Valentine, a member of the STARS, and by a commando group including Carlos Oliveira, sent on a suicide mission by Umbrella, and a few other elite soldiers. The task will be tough, especially as the computer responsible for this carnage does not stop there.
The Red Queen sent her latest genetically modified soldier, the Nemesis, an immense huge creature. This is actually Matt, the last survivor of the previous security team that Alice was on.
