Review of the movie's events
New York City is terrorized by Foot Clan soldiers, driven by the evil Shredder. April O'Neil, a Channel 6 journalist, seeks out them out with her cameraman Vernon Fenwick.
They are looking for the evidence of the clan of the foot but they fail continually. April notices some clan soldiers while carrying toxic material in the harbor, and as she tries to film them, a mysterious character with a lightning strike defeats them all by wielding a Japanese weapon, which April acknowledges.
After telling this story to Channel 6 they all swear that she is crazy. Meanwhile, Shredder orders his adopted daughter, Kara, to take hostages in the subway of the city to attract the mysterious hero again.
April, who is among the hostages, witnesses the whole fight. This time the mysterious hero defeats the soldiers and escapes.
April tracks them up to a roof where he finds that they are four teenage mutant ninja turtles: Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello.
They tell April to delete the footage that she has recorded of them. After which they return to their sewer hideout where they are reproached by their father and master, who is named, Splinter. He orders them to bring April to their base to protect her.
Meanwhile, April finds a film by her father Kirby O'Neil wherein reality Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello were four water tortoises and Splinter a rat, and she realizes that they were her pets in the past.
So after telling everything to her boss, Bernadette Thompson, April gets fired. At this point, April is the only person who believes the existence of the teenage mutant turtles.
In the past, Eric Sacks, a scientist who worked with her father, revealed that they were working on the "Renaissance Project", a series of animal experiments to which a strange green substance was injected into the test subjects.
Secretly, Sacks works for Shredder and also puts a detector in the pocket of the April's jacket, and she goes away without suspecting anything.
The turtles lead April to their hideout where here Splinter tells the girl the truth: when Kirby O'Neil noticed that working with Eric Sacks was also working for Shredder, he destroyed the lab, causing a fire that killed him. The turtles and Splinter escaped into the sewers where they were safe.
But the injected mutagen started to cause a slow physical and mental mutation in them. So Splinter kept the turtles hidden for fifteen years for fear that by going out they would be hated and harmed.
Then he found a book in the sewers, which was about the martial arts called, Ninjitsu. Splinter taught the turtles Ninjitsu based from this book.
But the detector hidden in the April's jacket is activated. The turtle's hideout invaded by the evil clan and Shredder, who first defeats Splinter, then captures Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello, while Raphael escapes with April. April together with Raphael goes to Vern.
They track the captured turtles to the snowy mountains and release them. The turtles reveal to Vern and April the plan of Sacks, which is to spread a toxin on the city and sell the antidote.
The turtles go to Sacks Industries, after escaping to an army of foot clan, soldiers. They then arrive on the roof where Shredder is about to spread the toxin. April and Vern kill Sacks who before he dies says he is the murderer of April's father.
The turtles try to defeat Shredder, but he is too strong. The turtles come up with a clever strategy; they collapse the roof of the building.
Shredder plunges into the hole, and despite the fall, he survives. The turtles thus manage to ruin the evil plan of Shredder and with the last remaining antidote; they can save their master Splinter.
