Written when “Uptown Funk” was topping the charts across the globe, "24 K Magic" sounds more “Uptown Funk” than any of Bruno Mars’ other songs.
With the 24k Magic world tour selling a million tickets in less than 24 hours, thanks to his performance at the American Music Awards 2016, it is no surprise than Bruno Mars’s first full fledged album in more than 4 years is a resounding success.
Bruno Mars who’s 80s funk based song “Uptown Funk” sold more than 12 million copies across the globe, earning $100,000 per week on Spotify in the summer of 2015, became the longest charting no.1 Billboard single of the entire 2010s decade.
And no one has ever come close to breaking that record in recent times apart from The Chainsmokers “Closer”, the biggest hit of 2016.
Compiled by Bruno along with Christopher ‘Brody’ Brown and Philip Lawrence, it serves as a single lead for his third studio album also titled 24 K Magic.
This heavily auto tuned song is depicted with Bruno partying along with his friends as he enjoys drinking, dancing and playing at Las Vegas in the video, has been criticized by many for being too hedonistic.
24 K Magic is Bruno Mars’ official comeback album after a four year hiatus when his last album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’, released in the holiday season of 2012.
His new album which has created a buzz all over the music industry making one realize that four years hasn’t slowed the musical career of Bruno Mars.
24 K Magic debuted at number 5 in Billboard 200. By the end of October it was charted at the top ten list on more than ten countries worldwide apart from selling 2.5 million copies as on November 25th 2016.
