And there was another major casualty when "Hello" beat Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" to become the fastest video to reach 100 million views on YouTube.
As on November 5th 2015, Adele's "Hello" has more than 225 million views on YouTube, with reports that many of Adele's fans are sober and crying without any self restraint whenever and wherever they listen to the song including top celebrities like Katy Perry,Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran.
Many famous people have taken to twitter to praise Adele's "Hello" and are posting pictures of themselves with tears rolling down their cheeks,the effect they had when they listened to "Hello".
The list includes Kate Hudson, Katy Perry, Sam Smith, John Stamos, Lena Dunham, One Republic, Russell Crowe and many more.Not since Michael Jackson has an artist been adored and worshiped by the celebrities themselves, like Adele is being treated now.
And not even popular musicians and divas like Madonna, Celine Dion or Britney Spears were able to gain the respect of the music industry like Adele did, when "Hello" was released.
One has to wait and see if Adele's "Hello" would ever become the most watched video on YouTube beating "Gangnam Style" by PSY, as it has gained more views than "Gangnam Style" during the fortnight of it's release.
Not every musician in this planet was pleased with Adele's "Hello". Lionel Richie whose 80's ballad with the same title, posted a tweet pointing out the similarities between his "Hello" and Adele's "Hello".
To the shock of many Lionel Richie fans there were many similarities to Adele's "Hello" in not only the audio but even the video. Many fans of Lionel Richie are also claiming that the opening word of Adele's "Hello" is an exact replica of Lionel Richie's "Hello".
With some fans even questioning that if Adele's suffering from writer's block resulted in her extracting the opening word from Lionel Richie's "Hello".
"Hello" was written by Adele along with Greg Kurstin, a London based musician,producer and a songwriter.Adele sought Greg Kurstin's help in composing the music apart from writing the lyrics for a new song early 2015 as her writer's block showed no signs of abating.
The two met at Adele's London studio where Kursting wrote the first few sentences and they left for the day only to meet after 6 months to complete the song.
They did meet around August 2015 to complete the "Hello" track where Kurstin was credited with piano, keyboards and guitar.After a 30 second premier during X Factor UK, the song was released on BBC Radio 1 on 22nd October 2015 on a Live Show with Adele being the host.
It became the biggest number one single in the UK for almost 3 years with 250,000 digital downloads in the iTunes music store within a week of it's release.
It was also the most streamed single in Spotify, Amazon prime and iTunes radio with more than 7 million streams brushing aside the record held by Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?"
This soft ballad from Adele topped the charts in almost all the countries where ever there is an official countdown including Europe, Australia, U.K and USA.
