"Turn Back the Clock" is a song done by Johnny Hates Jazz a British band which currently consists of Mike Nocito (bassist, guitarist, engineer, producer) and Clark Datchler.
The group hit international success after the release of their first single “Shattered Dreams” in April 1987.
The former members of the band were Phil Thornalley (vocals) and Clavin Hayes (keyboard and drum). The current members of the group were born into musical families, and they had a musical background.
The band has set a comeback tour to celebrate 30 years as a band and also the release of their album Turn Back the Clock.
The tour includes a performance at Gateshead Sage 2. The group came back together in 2010 and started to write, record and produce a new album.
They also began performing live at international festivals, and they released an Album in 2013 called Magnetized.
The single of the same name became a spectacular hit in the UK but unfortunately, Clark collapsed in London, and all recording and promotion was put to a halt.He spent a good deal of the following year recovering.
The song "Turn Back the Clock" is the title track of their debut album (Turn Back the Clock,1987) and was released as the third single from the LP.
The song was a success for the group as it peaked at number twelve in the UK Top 40 and also reached number 5 on the US Adult Contemporary chart.
Lyrically, the song is about a man looking back on his life with thanksgiving saying if he could go back in time, he wouldn’t change anything that happened to him even though he experienced good times and bad times.
The music video for the song was directed by Brian Grant and has more than 3 million views on YouTube.
