Release Date - March 14th, 1998
Album - Come On Over
I just swear
That I'll always be there
I give anything
And everything
And I will always care
Through weakness and strength
Happiness and sorrow
For better, for worse
I will love you
With every beat of my heart
From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on
From this moment, I have been blessed
I live only, for your happiness
And for your love, I give my last breath
From this moment on
I give my hand to you with all my heart
I can't wait to live my life with you I can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment, as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing, I wouldn't give
From this moment on
You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment, as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing, I wouldn't give
From this moment, I will love you
As long as I live from this moment on
Review - 2
The quintessential song played at weddings, “From This Moment On” reads like the wedding vows. This is the second song released from Shania Twain’s third studio album Come On Over (1997).
The album reined in worldwide recognition for the Canadian singer-songwriter. It is not only her most successful album, but also the bestselling album by a female solo act ever.
Having sold more than 40 Million units worldwide, including 20 Million just in America, Come On Over is the no.1 country music album of all time (stayed on top of the country charts for a combined 50 weeks), the sixth bestselling album in the US and the all-time top-selling album by a Canadian.
Come On Over was the second collaboration with her music producer and husband Robert John “Mutt” Lange.
All the songs in the album are written by the duo. Lange is the force behind music’s widely popular classic acts – Bryan Adam’s Waking Up the Neighbors (1991), Def Leppard’s Hysteria (1987), AC/DC’s Highway to Hell (1979) and Back in Black (1980), just to name a few.
Lange was instrumental in establishing Shania’s country-pop signature music and building her to be the global crossover artist with the gargantuan international success of Come On Over. Shania won 4 GRAMMY® Awards for this album.
Shania wrote "From This Moment On" at a soccer game in Italy and thought it would be perfect for Celine Dion. However as the duo developed the song, they decided that it would work better as a duet.
The original version of the song was recorded with powerhouse country singer Bryan White. Shania went back to the studio to re-record another version that featured her solo, accompanied by The Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra.
The song made it to the Top 10 in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom and peaked at no.4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song has been covered by many artistes, like Celine Dion, Diana Krall, Faith Hill & Tim McGraw Long touted to release a new album, Shania is expected to drop one later this year.
This comes 15 years after her 4th and last studio album Up! and a long wait by fans. Twain stepped away from the spotlight for many years in between.
Following the breakdown of her 17-year marriage with Lange, Shania lost her husband, co-collaborator and best friend.
She was also diagnosed with dysphonia, a condition that affected her singing and speaking, for which she undertook treatment.
With recovered vocal cords and a healed heart, she returned to the stage with "Still the One" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace through 2012-14.
For the new album, she has enlisted the assistance of a team of producers, including Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, One Direction), Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen),Jacquire King (Kings of Leon) and Matthew Koma.“It’s a bit awkward, because I didn’t really know how to work with anybody else.
After all those years, it’s been a real learning curve — that is a good way to put it,” she explains on her work behind the album and the collaboration.
This five-time GRAMMY® winner has sold more than 85 Million records. She penned and released her memoirs “From This Moment On” in 2001. She’s a performer par excellence.
But underneath the singing and the glory, she is a singularly remarkable woman. Her difficult life is a lesson to people to stay optimistic, to persevere against odds and reinforces the meaning behind her name “I’m on my way”.
