Limp Bizkit - Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)(#ad)
Limp Bizkit released their hit single "Rollin (Air Raid Vehicle)" from their multi-platinum album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water on October 10th, 2000. The song gained enormous traction and airplay all over the world.
The music video was shot on the South Tower of the previous World Trade Center in New York City. The presentation highlighted Ben Stiller and Stephen Dorff confused Fred Durst for the valet and giving him the keys to their Bentley Azure.
Also seen in the music video is Mr. Squirms, making a brief but an impactful appearance in the music video.
The tune Ben Stiller is playing at the start is "My Generation" from a similar collection. The video likewise includes scenes of Fred Durst with 5 girls moving in a room.
The video was shot around an indistinguishable time from the film Zoolander, which clarifies Stiller and Dorff's appearance. Fred Durst has a little cameo in that film.
It was ridiculed as "Posin'" on the TV arrangement MADtv, and the "Urban Assault Vehicle" rendition was recorded on VH1's rundown of the 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs.
"Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" was outstanding among WWE fans as the song beats were the entrance song for the WWE Wrestler “The Undertaker” for almost two years from 2000 to 2002.
It was again played at the Wrestle Mania in the year 2003 where the theme song was performed live inside the ring.
With the huge popularity and incredible sales numbers from all over the world, Rollin' was honored with the 'Best Rock Video' award at MTV Video Music Awards held on September the 10th 2001.
The very same night Fred Durst, the lead vocalist of Limp Bizkit received an email from the management of WTC, thanking him for promoting their skyscrapper in their video and the rest is history.
It also got listed in Billboard Hot 100 as the most energetic song and remained in top lists for a long time.
It got it's special place in Up Venue's Top Songs and got the recognition for being world's fastest and the most electrifying song.
As the music video begins,Fred Durst is seen chilling out near an upstate New York city restaurant, when Ben Stiller and Stephen Dorff arrive in a Bentley Azure.
Assuming Fred to be the Valet (which he is not) they give him the keys to their super-expensive Bentley Azure.
Fred Durst decides to chill out, takes the Bentley Azure for a drive instead of parking it.
As soon as Fred gets into the car, the video cuts to the Statue of Liberty and the terrace of the Twin Towers, where the drummer and supporting guitarists of Limp Bizkit up the tempo.
Fred is then seen dancing with girls, with all of them wearing dark blue track pants and a red cap backwards.
Again the music video cuts as Fred Durst hitch hikes hipsters, makes calls from his cellphone..asking more hustlers and playas' to join him on the convertible Bentley Azure, as they drive through the streets of Manhattan..hustling around.
Fred sings the song from three places..at the top of the Twin Towers with the rest of the band, with the girls in track pants and finally as he drives the convertible through the upscale Manhattan neighborhood.
The song was released in three different versions, including an instrumental version and a 9/11 version.
Reaching the no.1 spot in the U.K charts,"Rollin (Air Raid Vehicle)" was the lead single for their album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
It sold more than 8 million copies in the U.S and 12 million copies worldwide, gaining 6 Platinum certifications in the States, 5 Platinum certifications in Australia and 2 Platinum certifications from the British Phonographic Industry.
