Unlike Michael Jackson who had the hits coming one after another since his 1983 album Thriller, Carly Rae Jepsen is finding going getting tougher and tougher,as the pressure mounts on her from her fans, to create a song like "Call Me Maybe".
Even though Emotions has some pretty peppy 80s tempo upbeat songs like "I Really Like You","Emotion" and "Boy Problems", she is yet to fascinate her fans with her genre of music.
"Boy Problems" music video has Madonna's "Crazy for you", written all over it but even after 3 weeks, the song could only manage 2 million views on Youtube,whereas Taylor Swift's "New Romantics" released around the same has crossed 20 million views.
Emotion is strictly for die-hard Carly Rae fans.. while the rest of us keep waiting for the magic of "Call Me Maybe" to reappear.
