A detailed review of the film's events:
In the San Fernando Valley, California, a young woman, Nathalie, is rescued by a mountain rescue helicopter pilot, Ray Gaines, following a low-magnitude landslide that resulted in the fall of her car in a narrow ravine.
A few days later, two seismologists, Professor Lawrence Hays and Dr. Kim Park, think they can predict earthquakes. They then travel to Nevada, Hoover Dam, Colorado, Where slight shocks were detected, in order to test their theory.
Once there, they find that they can indeed anticipate earthquakes, after noticing that magnetic pulsations in the ground increase before each shake.
But a few seconds later, Kim realizes that the pulsations are constantly increasing, and this in a very intense way, which ends up provoking an earthquake of magnitude 7.1, Causing the dam to collapse and Kim's death.
The next day, Lawrence took advantage of the presence of a journalist who wanted to report on the earthquake to announce that they could plan the earthquakes, but the interview was interrupted by the arrival of two young scientists who told Lawrence that Strong seismic shocks were detected along the San Andreas fault.
Lawrence comes to the conclusion that the entire San Andreas fault is opening up considerably.
At the same time, Los Angeles is devastated by a devastating earthquake of magnitude 8.5 and Emma, Ray's ex-wife follows the latter's advice via a laptop and takes refuge at the top of the building in which she is found.
While he was preparing to leave in Nevada by helicopter, Ray changed direction to save Emma before the building collapsed.
Meanwhile, Professor Lawrence discovers that the San Andreas fault is in full swing and that the shocks are heading towards San Francisco.
Blake, the now only daughter (her sister Malaury died a few years ago, without her father having been able to save her) of Ray and Emma, who is in San Francisco with Daniel (Emma's roommate), is abandoned by the latter who prefers to flee the underground car park of the building where they were, rather than save Blake, because the young woman is stuck in a car and the ceiling threatens to break.
Blake arrives however to make contact with his father, who then takes the direction of San Francisco with Emma. But in the meantime, Blake is barely saved by two brothers, Ben and Ollie Taylor.
But Lawrence finds amazement that the current pulsations are identical or superior to those that preceded the devastating earthquakes. To warn the public that the worst is yet to come, Lawrence demands that the media channels be hijacked to communicate the information as quickly as possible.
Ray and Emma, who have been forced to change vehicles several times, reach San Francisco as best they can, but are forced to leave the bay by boat when they discover the imminent arrival of a tsunami.
They manage to overcome the gigantic wave before it crashes against the emblematic Golden Gate Bridge, which collapses causing the deaths of hundreds of people including Daniel. Lawrence then told his colleagues that the earthquake was 9.6 magnitude, the largest in history.
Blake, Ben, and Ollie take refuge in time in a tower, but the water gradually penetrates into the building. Ray and Emma manage to find Blake after crisscrossing the flooded streets by boat, but the building begins to give way, and Blake finds himself trapped, while the water rises more and more.
Ray tries to save her but watches helplessly for her loss of consciousness. He then evacuated the building, trying to resuscitate her, and after several attempts, Blake returned to life.
After the San Andreas catastrophe, Ray, Emma, Blake, Ben, and Ollie, assembled in an emergency base, all gather together in front of a devastated and unrecognizable landscape, while relief work around them.
Review of the movie's features
Special effects - The special effects alone of the film should make you find and download full movies of San Andreas. The crashing buildings and splitting earth were really something to watch because it all looked real.
If you love high-quality special effects, then you would love San Andreas. most of the special effects were done in CGI, but that computer-generated effects made the film seem real.
Story - The story was okay. The characters, such as the helicopter were the highlight of the film. Others like Daniel were not really fun to watch. Overall, the plot of the film was interesting enough to watch the whole thing.
Action sequences - The action scenes are really breathtaking to watch. Even if there were no fight sequences, audiences were still on the edge of their seats as they were drawn in by the action on-screen. it was really satisfying to see the heroes of the movie overcome the problems that were thrown at them by the earthquake.

San Andreas (2015) is a movie that you have got to catch on Amazon video prime. This is because you are going to have an enjoyable hour or two watching this disaster movie unfold.
It is kind of like the other disaster movie 2012, which was also about a huge disaster. But this is much more hopeful since it does not end the whole world.
Instead, only a part of the world is lost, which specifically is the western coast of the United States. So if you like a feel good action movie, then this is the one to watch.
