It delivers nonstop gut churning laughter to kids and adults. It’s a perfect movie for all those who love to enjoy low brows comedy keeping their brain aside.
What’s the Storyline?
It’s a story about two imbecile roommates Harry and Lloyd who are very good friends and are really stupid.
The duo eventually set out on a cross country trip which starts from Providence and further proceeds to Aspen, Colorado to return a briefcase that was full of hard cash to its rightful owner.
The owner of the bag is a beautiful girl named Mary Swanson whose character is played by lovely ‘Lauren Holly’.
After facing a mishap after another during the trip, this stupid duo finally makes it to Aspen. But soon they realize that Mary and her briefcase are least of their problem.
Plot Summary
Lloyd is a limousine driver in Providence who was eventually infatuated by a female passenger named Mary Swanson. He was taking her to the airport as she is heading to her family in Aspen, Colorado.
She intentionally leaves her suitcase back in the terminal.
Lloyd, who is unaware of the fact that the bag contains some serious amount of cash which was for Mary’s kidnapped husband, retrieves it and tries to return it back to the lady.
But the problem arises for him as the plane to Aspen was already departed. He got fired from his job and returns back to his apartment after having a bad day.
He came to know that Harry, his friend and roommate who is working as a dog groomer is also fired as he mishandled the dog of his client.
Meanwhile, J.P Shay (Karen Duffy) and Joe “Mental” Mentalino (Mike Starr) the kidnapper’s of Mary’s husband followed Lloyd to his apartment to retrieve the briefcase.
It will be amazing and equally hilarious to see how Harry and Lloyd avoid being murdered several times over by their sheer dumb luck.
Finally, somehow they manage to reach Aspen and find Mary. They eventually found themselves in a clumsy kidnapping plot.
The true test of their friendship comes when they enter into a competition for a common girl’s affection.
Verdict -
Brother Bobby and Peter Farrelly have successfully elevated bodily fluid humor that tickled the funny bones of the viewers.
It’s absolutely a relentlessly stupid comedy that is elevated by the main actors Jeff Daniel who carries himself admirably in an against-type performance and Jim Carrey who goes bonkers.
With a gross collection of $247 million, ‘Dumb and Dumber’ is truly a ‘must watch’ movie.
