The story revolves around the life of an 8 year old boy named Kevin McCallister played by Macaulay Culkin, who is mistakenly left by his family while going on a Christmas vacation to Paris. On finding himself alone at home, Kevin feels great excitement.
But his excitement soon ends when he figures out two burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) are trying to rob his house. Catherine O’ Hara and John Heard play the roles of Kevin’s parent in the movie.
The story is based in Chicago, Illinois, where a family plans a Christmas vacation to Paris.
The whole family gathers at Peter and Kate’s home where their son Kevin gets ridiculed by his cousin and siblings, after which his older brother sent him to the room at third floor where he makes a wish that his whole family disappears.
The next day when he wakes up, he finds himself alone at home and thinks that his wish came true.
Soon his excitement turns into fear when he overheard two burglars, Harry and Marv is trying to break into the McCallister’s house.
Kevin initially gets successful to keep them away by making them feel that the family is still in the house but later fails to fool the burglars.
From here starts all the fun when Kevin set up the trap for the burglars and when they try to enter the house they fell in the trap and gets many injuries.
Soon after, all hell breaks loose… Harry and Marv manage to catch Kevin and discuss how they will take their revenge, meanwhile his neighbor Marley shows up and hit them with his shovel and calls the police.
This movie is worth watching and Macaulay Culkin did a fabulous job in the role of Kevin.
This movie will keep you engaged till the end and promises to entertain you every time you watch it.
