Plot
In the year 2000, Peter Parker learns that the study of his father Richard Parker has been robbed. His parents then transport him to the home of his Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
Several years later Peter is a teenager attending Midtown Science High School. Meanwhile, at home Peter finds the papers of his father and learns that his father worked at Oscorp in the area of cross-species genetics. He worked with Dr. Curt Connors there.
Peter sneaks into the company’s facilities and goes into a laboratory where genetically modified spiders are being developed.
One of the spiders bites Peter. He later learns that he’s developed spider-like skills including sense, speed, and reflexes.
Peter later starts to suspect that Connors is the Lizard. The Lizard then learns that Spider-Man is Peter and follows him to school where they fight.
The police then start looking for both Spider-Man and Lizard. They then remove his mask and Captain Stacy learns that Spider-Man is actually Peter.
The Lizard has a plan to make all humans like lizards by releasing a chemical from Oscorp tower in order to eliminate human weaknesses.
Spider-Man releases an antidote cloud and restores victims to their normal state. However, Lizard is still able to wound Captain Stacy.
Before dying, he asks Peter to stay away from Gwen so she’ll be safe. He does that at first then suggests later that he can see Gwen.
In a scene during mid-credits Connors talks to a man in a prison cell. He asks if Peter knows the true story about his father. Connors says he doesn’t and asks the man to stay away from Peter.
If you’re looking for free movies online this is one of the best options and especially if you’re a fan of the Spider-Man franchise. It’s an interesting reboot and was probably a better option than continuing the original film series.
Casting
Andrew Garfield plays the role of Peter Parker in the movie. Garfield explained that he can relate to the character of Peter and had been a big influence on him since he was young.
In fact, he used his own life experiences to help him play his role in the movie. That referred to his time in school when he behaved badly but didn’t have the courage to stand up to people.
Garfield also explained that he was impressed by Toby Maguire’s role as Peter Parker in the previous Spider-Man trilogy. He even knew several of Maguire’s lines in the earlier films.
Background
After “Spider-Man 3” was released Sony announced May 2011 as the next film of the next series. It was announced in January 2010 that the series would get a reboot instead of continuing the series.
The producers made the decision that the core of the story of Spider-Man was about Peter Parker becoming a man.
Review
“The Amazing Spider-Man” is a reboot of the trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. The movie returns to the start of the superhero’s story. There’s also a new story-line.
It’s interesting that the story continues to be interesting and focus on a nerdy teenager who becomes popular through superpowers.
One of the main changes to the franchise is that the new Peter Parker is a science and sports star. However, this time the character also has a skateboard that is lost when Peter gets his superpowers.
It remains to be seen how long Garfield can play a 17-year-old since he was a decade older when the reboot was launched.
The romantic relationships of Peter are also tweaked in the new film. Webb is known for romantic comedies including “500 Days of Summer.” This adds an interesting dynamic to the movie and is part of the freshness of the reboot.
Peter’s destiny of becoming Spider-Man is set from the start. It could be argued that the story is more interesting and unique than the original one from the comic book character.
The scientific work of his father is now done by Dr. Connors. He has one arm and wants the ability of a lizard re re-grow limbs. Peter is being watched by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
The scenes in which Peter becomes Spider-Man are quite exciting. When he’s bitten by the spider he experiences various emotions like anxiety and excitement as he gets new strength and the skill of hanging upside-down.
Peter then accidentally knocks down men in a subway train. When at home he destroys his bathroom prior to learning about how strong he is. However, the death of Uncle Ben and Peter’s guilt isn’t included in the new film.
Ifans plays the Spidey villain in this Amazon prime video. In fact, it could be argued he’s the best Spidey villain since Doctor Octopus in “Spider-Man 2.” Dr. Connors’ research includes computer modeling but he realizes later that he wants a lizard’s ability to regrow their limbs.
Reception
The movie earned $262 in North America as well as about $496 in other nations. It’s one of the top-10 highest grossing films of all-time.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” received mostly positive reviews. That includes an average of 72% based on over 300 reviews at Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, the film has also received an average 66/100 score based on over 40 reviews.
If you want to download full movies “The Amazing Spider-Man” is an excellent option. That’s especially true if you enjoyed the first trilogy. It includes much of the excitement from those earlier films.
However, there’s also a fresh take on the story, which helps to keep it exciting. Today it’s very common for movie franchises to get a trilogy.
However, after three films it’s often the case that the story that producers/writers wanted to be told has already been told. So it’s definitely a good idea to reboot the franchise after a trilogy.
