The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (2CD Deluxe)(#ad)
"Wild Horses" is a song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and was done by Rolling Stones.
The song is from their 1971 album Sticky Fingers and was one of their best songs since it ranked at number 334 in the “500 Best Songs of All Time” in 2004.
Rolling stones is an English rock band formed in London England 1962.
The original lineup consisted of Mick Jagger the lead vocalist, Brian Jones who played the guitar and harmonica, Keith Richards who did the backing vocals and played the guitar, Ian Stewart played the piano; Charlie Watts played the drums and Bill Wyman who played the bass.
Ian Stewart was removed from the official lineup in 1963, although he continued to be a touring member up until his death in 1985.
Brian Jones left the band less than one month before his death and was replaced with Mick Taylor.
In their liner notes, Richard narrates how they were inspired together with Mick to write the song.
Jagger says he sat down with Gram Parsons originally to write the song, but Gram’s version came out before their version.
According to Jagger, the song was not written about Marianne like everyone else thought. Richard says the song is a classic way of him and Jagger working together.
Lyrically, the song is about the normal thing of not wanting to be on the road, being miles away from where you want to be.
The music video for the song which has more than 9 million views on YouTube, was done to promote an acoustic version of the song in 1995.
The song "Wild Horses" was released in June 1971 as the second US-only single and it entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached number 28.

Childhood living is easy to do.
The things you wanted
I bought them for you.
Graceless lady
you know how I am
you know I can't let you
slide through my hands.
Wild horses
couldn't drag me away.
Wild, wild horses
couldn't drag me away.
I watched you suffer
a dull aching pain.
Now you decided to
show me the same.
But no sweeping exits or offstage lines
could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind.
Wild Horses
couldn't drag me away.
Wild, wild horses
couldn't drag me away.
I know I dreamed you
a sin and a lie
I got my freedom
but I don't have much time.
Faith has been broken
and tears must be cried
let's do some living
after love dies.
Wild Horses
couldn't drag me away.
Wild, wild horses
we'll ride them someday
Wild Horses
couldn't drag me away.
Wild, wild horses
we'll ride them someday.
