Bee Gees - The Ultimate Bee Gees(#ad)
“You Win Again” is a track written by three brothers, Robin, Maurice and Barry Gibb and performed by the Bees Gees.
This was the trio’s group name and this is the song that marked the start of the group’s come back. They had been in the music industry for a while before releasing the song.
The Bees Gees were successful in their music career, but they had two exceptional periods of success.
One was when they did a popular music act in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s and when they were prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid to late 1970’s.
They achieved their first success in Australia as the Bees Gees with “Spicks and Specks” which was their 12th single.
As of July 2013, the group had sold more than 220 million records worldwide which placed them among the world’s best-selling artists.
The song “You Win Again” was written and produced by the trio and it was released in 1987.
It was released as a debut single, and it saw the group become famous as the song hit number one in so many countries including the UK.
This was their first song to do so in more than eight years and it made them the first trio to get a UK number one hit in each of the three decades: 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s.
The Gibb brothers received the 1987 British Academy’s Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically as songwriters.
They also received a nomination for a Brit Awards for the Best British Group.
The song “You Win Again”was voted second in “The Nation’s Favorite Bee Bees Song” in a UK television special on ITV in December 2011. The song currently has more than 22 million views on YouTube.
Bee Gees - You Win Again - Lyrics
Release Date - 12 October 1987
Album - E.S.P.
I couldn't figure why
You couldn't give me what everybody needs
I shouldn't let you kick me when I'm down
My baby
I find out everybody know
That you've been using me
I'm surprised you
Let me stay around you
One day I'm gonna lift the cover
And look inside your heart
We gotta level before we go
And tear this love apart
There's no fight you can't fight
This battle of love with me
You win again
So little time
We do nothing but compete
There's no life on earth
No other could see me through
You win again
Some never try
But if anybody can, we can
And I'll be, I'll be
Following you
Oh girl, oh girl, oh baby I shake you from now on
I'm gonna break down your defenses
One by one
I'm gonna hit you from all sides
Lay your fortress open wide
Nobody stops this body from taking you
You better beware, I swear
I'm gonna be there one day when you fall
I could never let you cast aside
The greatest love of all
There's no fight you can't fight
This battle of love with me
You win again
So little time
We do nothing but compete
There's no life on earth
No other could see me through
You win again
Some never try
But if anybody can, we can
And I'll be, I'll be, I'll be, I'll be
Following you
Oh girl
You win again
So little time
We do nothing but compete
There's no life on earth
No other could see me through
You win again
Some never try
But if anybody can, we can
And I'll be, I'll be, I'll be, I'll be
Following you
You win again
So little time
We do nothing but compete
There's no life on earth
No other could see me through
You win again
Some never try
But if anybody can, we can
There's no fight you can't fight
This battle of love with me
You win again
So little time
We do nothing but compete
There's no life on earth
No other could see me through
You win again
Some never try
But if anybody can, we can
There's no fight you can't fight
This battle of love with me
You win again
So little time
