Crush - The Best of Jennifer Paige(#ad)
The pop song Crush first aired in June 16, 1998, but it was recorded on April 1998 by Jennifer Paige for her debut album, Jennifer Paige.
Andy Goldmark, Mark Mueller, Berny Cosgrove and Kevin Clarke wrote the track while Jimmy Bralower helped Andy produce it.
Thanks to Hollywood Record Label, the song became a major hit in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.
In the US Billboard Chart, "Crush" took number 3 and maintained the position for three weeks after which it remained top ten for a long time.
It's demand increased when LA’s top radio station at the time, KIIS – FM aired the song earlier in 1998.
At the time, Paige had not mastered the track or mass produced it for sales.
Her initial label, Edel Records, went public with 20, 000 copies that sold faster and "Crush" became the most requested song on air.
With many record labels expressing interest in Paige, she signed a contract with Hollywood.
She performed live on air on July 9 and her vocals received positive reviews as well as the melody.
She also sang the song during the 1999 World Music Awards. Year after year and cover after another, Lea Michelle recorded the track for the Glee TV series in 2009.
On March 4, 2017, William Singe invited her on stage at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater, where they gave an epic mash-up version of “Crush" and Williams' track "Rush".
After being diagnosed with potentially lethal melanoma (skin cancer) back in 2011, her career took a downturn since she could not be photographed.
According to Paige, a few established icons have inspired her career including Mariah Carey, George Michael, Sade, Annie Lennox and Etta James. She is also a mother of two kids.
