The song written by Diane Warren is about a woman who is feeling confident enough that one day his love for her will lead him back and so she is very willing to set her love free.
She says in the song that it takes some time out on your own to find your way back home.

Warren says she started writing the song when she was in a hotel in Russia and all the time when she was writing, she had Whitney Houston in her mind but Clive Davis Arista Records president wanted to let her record the song. After recording and releasing the song, it became Dayne’s first number one single.
The music video is simple and features Warren and her band in studio performing the song and it was released in both black and white and some sepia tones.
The song was released on 27 January 1990 and it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 7 the same year and it spent 15 weeks in the top 40 which made the song Dayne’s sole chart-topping hit.
The song was certified Gold in the USA by the RIAA and it also reached number one on the Billboard Audit Contemporary chart. The video has more than 17 million views currently on YouTube.
