When Meat Loaf's record company rejected Jim Steinman's music and composition for "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart",they had no idea these two songs will rank at No.2 and No.1 in the Billboard Hot 100 US Charts early 1983.

Midnight at the Lost and Found a 1983 album by Meat Loaf failed miserably at the charts prompting Meat Loaf to sue Jim Steinman who incidentally sold "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" to Air Supply.

Jim Steinman is a renowned American producer,song writer, composer who in the 80s was known as the man with Midas touch since whatever he ventured in..song writing or composing turned into gold or even better platinum certified records.

Since Meat Loaf rejected Jim Steinman's offer , he worked out a deal with Airsupply's Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock offering them the song in exchange of partial royalty payments.

Air Supply re-recorded "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" with Russell Hitchcock's amazing vocals but it was his band mate Graham Russell who got featured in the video because of his 'tall dude' looks.

The song was featured in Air Supply's album Greatest Hits and sold more than 7 million copies world wide.

This was Air Supply's biggest hit in the USA, ranking at No.2 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts, unfortunately this would be Air Supply's last top ten single till date.

Even though "Lost in Love" became the fastest selling song in the world in 1980 (before "Thriller"), it was a delayed release in USA, released many months later after the original release in Air Supply's native country Australia.

But the delayed release helped Air Supply gain momentum in USA as they were able to release "Lost in Love", "All out of Love" , "The One That You Love" and "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" one after other, in quick succession with cleverly manipulated delays.
