She was figuratively and literally an author who is manipulating all the other characters in the movie to do her bidding.

It will be an amazing cat and mouse game between Catherine and Nick.
Well, when we are talking about one of the most controversial movie of 90’s, it is impossible to ignore the huge controversy that was cropped up when the release date was near.
It was a kind of particular furor that was caused by lesbians and feminist over their portrayal in the movie. Another is the infamous interrogation scene in which Stone notoriously crosses and uncrosses her legs.
It is claimed that the scene was not there in the script. Apart from the controversies, the movie is well known for its sizzling romance and dangerous lust filled mind games.
Getting back to the movie, one can say that ‘Basic Instinct’ is one of the most stylishly filmed thrillers that is brilliantly directed, expertly paced and packed with superb music from Jerry Goldsmith.
'Basic Instinct’ is one of those films that keeps the viewer’s interest and guessing right up until the final shot.
The most amazing part of this movie is that the last shot surprisingly reveals that all efforts in making the guesses were pointless since the innocence and guilty of the character is just a flip of coin.
It was all based on evidence that can be taken two ways. On a signing note, one can say that the film is much like a crossword puzzle that will keep everyone’s interest until the mystery gets resolved.
