Released August 2015, "One Call Away" was Charlie Puth's third biggest hit after "Marving Gaye" and "See you again".
It was a bigger hit in the U.S charting at the 12th spot in the Billboard Hot 100 charts,than "Marving Gaye" which could only peak at the 21st position in the States.
Just like most of his videos, the song was premiered in his YouTube channel in a very low key manner with no sort of promotion whatsoever.
Puth was later signed to Ellen DeGeneres ElevenEleven record's, when most of the major record labels over looked him.
Ellen DeGeneres was not disappointed by Puth as he kept rolling hits after hits in 2015, "One Call Away" was no exception as it sold more than a million copies in the U.S, an another million in the Europe.. including 500,000 copies in the U.K.
With a highly engrossing video complementing the soulful musical works of Puth, it is no surprise that Puth recorded the audio in his living room,where he usually sings and uploads covers of various songs on YouTube.
Puth would also later confess in an interview that the entire audio recording for "One Call Away" was done in a single shot and there are many background noises even in the remastered final cut including a blender grinding in the background.
