The song was one of her most popular songs and it was written by Peter Lord and later produced by Peter and V. Jeffrey Smith.
The song was a major commercial success in the United States where it became number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
This was her first ballad released as a single, and it was viewed by critics as a risky strategy in kicking off her album of new material Spellbound, but the decision was overrated because the song was very well received at retail.
The music video for the song which has more than 5 million views on YouTube, re-imagines the 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause.
The video was initially directed by Stefan Wurnitzer in April 1991 and produced by Karen Rohrbacher, but it was later re-edited to include more performance shots and less story.
