Pulled from Eminem’s seventh studio album Recovery (2010), the track was written by Skylar Grey and produced it alongside Alex Da Kid.

Thanks to the Interscope Records, the song was released in August 2010 and was welcomed by a series of favorable reviews that ranked this track as the best of Eminem’s 2010 hit songs.

Michael Menachem of Billboard Hot 100 was moved my Rihanna’s participation in the track while Kyle Anderson writing for MTV gave the track a thumbs up.

Most believed that the music reflected highly on Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown and called attention to Eminem and his love life with Kimberly Scott.

Starring Meghan Fox and Dominic Monaghan, the music video portrayed a series of domestic violence as directed by Joseph Khan.

"Love The Way You Lie" gained more fame after Eminem and Rihanna promoted it with live performances at the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 15, 2010(July 11), the 2010 MTV Music Awards, followed by a series of festivals where the two artists performed together or individually.

All over the world, "Love The Way You Lie" became the number one song selling 6.5 million copies by October 2015 with awards ranging from Teen Choice Awards 2010 to Billboard Music Awards Top Rap Song 2011.

It has collected over one billion YouTube views due to its melodious tunes and its message. Both artists have hit the media with relationship squabbles that left their audience wondering whether their inspiration came from real life experiences.

According to Rihanna, the track was emotional and she was unapologetic about its content. Nevertheless,"Love The Way You Lie" was a huge success globally and it continues to hit the stereos to date.
