The year was 1985, Madonna's album Like a Virgin, released by Warner Bros Records was shattering all records, when the shocking news was revealed to Warner Bros Chairman Robert A Daly by Warner Bros Records chief Ostin,that Madonna had just completed the Soundtrack for a movie called Vision Quest.
With a song that is an absolute stunner but the movie does not belong to Warner Bros Studios and Madonna broke all the contractual obligations by working on this project without discussing the TOS with Warner Bros.
A visibly shaken Robert A Daly arranged for a meeting with the small-time Producers Guber and Peters but never dragged the Queen of Pop into this controversy, knowing well the repercussions, if Madonna gets sucked into this stand-off.
At a highly tense meeting between Chairman Daly and Producers Guber & Peters, Daly and Peters were caught in a heated verbal exchange...where all hell broke loose.
After much of a crude and raw protest from Peters,Daly completely lost it and was charging towards Peter..when he managed to escape through the freight elevator.
The very next morning "Crazy For You" took the American air waves by storm and the rest is history.Warner Bros had hesitantly permitted the release of two songs "Gambler" and "Crazy For You" as movie sound tracks for Vision Quest.
Madonna's first power ballad, the single sold a million copies in the U.S, becoming her 2nd Billboard Hot 100 no.1 single.On the outset the song may sound like just other love song but is full of indirect hits towards the art of love making and fulfilling carnal pleasures.
The other soundtrack for the Vision Quest movie "Gambler" did not even chart in the U.S.Just goes on to show how popular "Crazy For You" was and still is.
The song became the no.1 hit in Canada, U.S and Australia.And reached the top ten in 6 countries including Japan, New Zealand, Ireland, Eurocharts and Netherland.
