2015 was a mixed year for Robin Thicke this is after there were many rumors surrounding the singer. One rumor that he didn't seem to like then was the rumor about him getting engaged to his then girl friend April Love.

To try and get the media and his fans to focus on Him and his music, he simply released a brand new single “Back Together” featuring Nicki Minaj.

The song came at the time to show that Robin was not enjoying the rumors and to some extent, it managed to silence the rumors.

Back Together is a collaborative song that Robin Thicke released together with Nicki Minaj. It was not the first time the pair worked together as they had previously teamed up to produce the “Shaking It For Daddy” track and the “Sex Therapy; The Session”.

The “Back Together” single premiered on August 5, 2015, and later released on August 6, 2015. The production team behind the Hit are Ali Payami and Max Martin.

The music video for the single was directed by Ben Mor and was filmed in Miami. The song was later released and posted on YouTube on August 13, 2015, via Thicke’s VEVO channel.

When asked in an interview why he decided the write the song and use the same producers and Nicki Minaj, Thicke answered that when he met with the producers, he just thought of getting back together.

That was the idea that comes to his head. He later sent the song to Nicki and she loved it and together they released the song.

Robin Thicke performed the song on various platforms, including the Late Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America among others. He also performed this at the 4th Indonesian Choice Awards.

Since the track was released on YouTube, it has been viewed more than 15.8 million times, to date and has sold millions of copies across the globe, which includes a Gold certification for record breaking sales in Italy.
