Summary of film:
The opening sequence of the film starts on the home world of the Autobots, which you can view on Amazon Prime Video. There is a war on Cybertron. The Autobot Sentinel Prime tries in a spaceship, the Ark, to flee from the planet and has thereby technology for teleportation on board, which could have decided the war in favor of the Autobots. However, he is attacked and he stumbles through the universe without power.
During the 1960’s the spaceship strikes the "dark side" of the moon. The event is detected by the people and the race into space under US government. After their landing in 1969, the astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin invade as part of lunar landing mission in a moment of radio silence into the spaceship and realize that there are other civilizations in outer space.
Review of the pre-interval:
With the help of Carly, his lovely new girlfriend, Sam succeeds in being hired by Bruce Brazos' aviation company in the capital state of the United States of America. At the same time, Optimus Prime and the Autobots land on the moon with the intention of studying closely the wreck of the Ark, a spaceship that ran a ground on the moon thousands of years earlier.
They find their former leader, Sentinel Prime. This one is in a sorry state and is non-functional, but that does not discourage Optimus from trying to bring him back to life. A certain Jerry makes contact with Sam and warns him: dark days are preparing. Jerry only has time to confide documents before being murdered.
Sam is also having problems in his day to day life. He is having trouble balancing his new work at the aviation company and his relationship with his new girlfriend. Added to this fact, Sam also misses his Autobot friends, especially Bumblebee.
The Autobots are part of the government organisation NEST, as they seek to bring peace throughout the whole world. But there are also some tensions in the structure of Nest, as other people seek to exploit the Autobots. Most of the people that are trying to deal with Autobots are also initially wary of them and do not trust them, especially because of the Decepticon attacks from the past.
And many people do not seem to be able to see the difference between the good Autobots and the evil Decepticons. All of these kinds of interactions mean that NEST is also beset by threats from both inside and outside the organisation.
Seymour Simmons, with Sam, manages to find out the Soviet Russians already knew about the existence of the Decepticons. The Russians had already taken pictures of the darker side of the moon. So this means that the Decepticons must have placed the dead body of the autobot leader on the bridge of the spaceship as a trap.
Sam tries to warn the Autobots and nest not to reactivate the body of the fallen Autobot leader, but he is too late. Sentinel Prime manages to wake up and he wants to destroy the whole world, and leave it behind.
Sentinel Prime has prompted humanity to instruct the Autobots to leave Earth, as he just wants to revive the Autobot home world.
The Government of the United States shall promptly adopt a corresponding law. Just before the Autobots are supposed to leave the planet, Sam tries to continue to question the plan. The autobots reassure Sam that this is for everyone’s good.
The Autobots then leave the Earth with the Xantium and the attached Space Shuttle Discovery. But shortly after the start, the ship of Starscream, who has been waiting in the earth orbit, is destroyed. In the certainty that the Autobots are dead, the Decepticons leave Sam.
Since the Autobots are seemingly destroyed, the Decepticons start with the next phase of their long-term plan. They capture Chicago, kill a large part of the population, and start building a giant technological tower at the center of the city. Other pillars are distributed throughout the globe.
Dylan reveals to Carly that the Decepticons want to get Cybertron in the earth orbit because there are the resources here that are needed to rebuild Cybertron on Earth.
Final Fight:
It comes to the fight between Sentinel Prime and Optimus, during which the latter loses an arm and Sentinel wins the upper hand. Carly, who was freed in the meantime by Sam, finds Megatron, who is still suffering from the injuries that make him Optimus (at the end of Transformers - Revenge) on the edge of the battlefield.
Megatron, in his pride, saves Optimus from Sentinel. This is because Megatron knows that if Sentinel is still alive, he would never get to truly be the leader of the new world of Cybertron, so he wants to get Sentinel out of the way.
In the meantime, Dylan succeeds in reactivating the overturned pillar, but he is thrown across the pillar by Sam. Then Bumblebee manages to break a part of the pillar, breaking the bridge of the pillar and Cybertron at the same time.
Megatron offers Optimus a truce, but this does not go into it and splits Megatron's head with an ax. He then kills the weakened Sentinel, who is still trying to justify his actions, with Megatron's cannon. This end fight sequence will look awesome seen in HD through Amazon Prime Videos.
Since their homeland is now finally destroyed, the surviving Autobots accept the earth as a new home. During the credits, Simmons is kissed by the agent, who then arrests him.
