Release Date: November 17th, 2005
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) is the fourth installment of the Harry Potter franchise, directed by Mike Newell.
The film had a incredible run at the box office and grossed a little under $900 million worldwide.
Harry Potter is seen in his fourth year in the Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry, where this time he is made to contest the Triwizard Tournament.
The lead stars of the film are Daniel Radcliffe (as Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson(Hermione Granger).
This film has been released after Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and has been followed by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The film begins with Harry Potter waking from a nightmare with pain in his scar that Voldemort inflicted upon him.
Potter feels threatened of Voldemort's presence near him and writes about it in a letter to his godfather, Sirius Black.
Upon receiving a letter from Weasleys, Harry's uncle Vernon lets him attend the Quidditch World Cup.
The next day after the finals, a crowd of Death eaters attacks the ground, torturing a few. Harry and his friends Ron & Hermione escape. That's when Harry realizes his wand has been missing.
The Weasleys, Harry, and Hermione reach Hogwarts school and come to know about the Triwizard Tournament, a tournament between schools scheduled for this year.
On the night of Halloween, the Goblet of Fire spits out the names of the contestants who were to compete in the Triwizard Tournament; and unluckily and unwittingly Harry Potter is one of the selected names (others being Cedric Diggory, Fleur Delacour, and Viktor Krum).
Potter is way to young for this competition but because the decision of Goblet of fire is final, little can be done about it.
The Tournament flags off with its first event, a dragon battle that each of the four contestants must face, to snatch the golden egg.
In the second challenge, Harry is seen following a mermaid and rescuing friends successfully.
The third and the final task has a maze challenge. The Triwizard Cup is kept in the center of the maze and the one who touches the Cup first wins.
Two contestants, Cedric and Harry end up in a tie. The cup, a port-key, sends both of them to a graveyard, where they meet Wormtail, who kills Cedric and ties Harry to a tombstone.
More action, spells and magic follows. Harry learns that it was Moody who put his name in the Goblet of Fire.
Dumbledore exposes Moody makes him admit his fake identity and the fact that the real Moody was locked in a chest.
