"Another Day in Paradise" is a track by American singer and songwriter Phil Collins. He is also a drummer, actor and record producer born on 30 January 1951.
He was the lead singer and also a drummer for the rock band Genesis and was also a solo artist. His solo career was more successful than the Genesis based career.
He scored three UK and seven US number one singles in his solo career and when his work with the band and other artists is combined, Collins has more US Top 40 singles as compared to any other artist during the 1980's.
His career started as a kid where at the age of five he was playing drums and he completed drama school training at this time which gave him several roles as a child actor.
He then pursued a music career where he joined Genesis in 1970 as their drummer and became their lead singer in 1975 after Peter Gabriel departed.
"Another Day in Paradise" was released as the number one single for his number one album But Seriously which was released in 1989.
In the song, Collins sings from a third person perspective. This was his seventh Billboard Hot 100 number one single and it also became his final single on the chart.
The song was a global success and it eventually became one of his most successful songs of his solo career.
"Another Day in Paradise" won him the Grammy Award for Record of the Year at the 1991 Grammy Awards ceremony. It also won an award for Best British Single at the 1990 BRIT Awards.
In the music video which has 193 million views on YouTube, he is seen observing a man crossing the street just to ignore a homeless lady.He implores his fans and listeners not to turn a blind eye to the homeless.
