Expose - Exposure: Deluxe Edition(#ad)
Some songs are so shallow they don't last in our memories for a fortnight, but then there are others such as Expose's "Seasons Change" that dwell in our souls forever.
As per many comments for Expose's "Seasons Change" video on YouTube, many viewers who had lost their loved ones, had written how their loved ones used to listen to this song again and again in their last days.
And how this song brought solace and comfort to those unfortunate souls.
Released around the last week of November 1987 from their debut album Exposure, right before the holiday season, "Seasons Change" sold close to 2 million copies in the U.S by the end of 1988 and has been earning the band millions in royalty payments for the last 27 years.
Based on the theme of fading relationships as times or seasons change, the depth of lyrics in this song can only be matched by a very few others.
Reaching the top of the most coveted Billboard Hot 100 U.S charts on the third week of February 1988,"Seasons Change" would be Expose's only number one song to date.
Expose,Florida based all girl multi ethnic dance-pop band drew it's inspiration from Miami Sound Machine, especially their Latin beats.
Three female singers blonde Ann Curless, Latina Jeanette Jurado and Italian Gioia Bruno would be the flag-bearers of Girl-power in the U.S, long before it's arrival in the U.K by Spice Girls in the mid 90s.
Exposure was supposed to be a non-stop party album sung by three care-free girls whose only motto in life is to have fun, "Seasons Change" is one of the two ballads that was least promoted by Expose's record label Arista.
The very first song "Come Go With Me" received heavy promotion from Arista Records but can only reach the 4th spot in the charts,"Let Me Be The One" the second dance-pop number peaked at the 7th position in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
But it was the downbeat, synth pop with a bit of sax solo "Seasons Change" that reached the summit of Billboard charts.
For many Expose fans, "Seasons Change" is a very personal song which they can relate with their lives and the deep lyrics made it even more intimate to their hearts.

Expose - Seasons Change - Lyrics
Release Date - November 1987
Album - Exposure
Some dreams are in the night time
And some seem like yesterday
But leaves turn brown and fade,
Ships sail away
You long to say a thousand words but
Seasons change
It feels like it's forever
No reason for emptiness
But time just runs away
No more day by day
You dream again, it seems in vain when
Seasons change
(I want you) I want to feel you by my side
(I need you) Don't you know I need you, baby?
Seasons change, feelings change
It's been so long since I found you
Yet it seems like yesterday
Seasons change, people change
I'll sacrifice tomorrow
Just to have you here today
Forever seems so far away
There's time for love and for play
You dream about today,
Feeling slips away
The winds that blow, they go away
And seasons change
(I want you) Don't hide your feelings from inside
(I need you) I've got to have your love now, baby
Seasons change, feelings change
It's been so long since I found you
Yet it seems like yesterday
Seasons change, people change
(I want you) I want to feel you by my side
(I need you) I've got to have your love now, baby
Seasons change, feelings change
It's been so long since I found you
Yet it seems like yesterday
Seasons change, people change
I'll sacrifice tomorrow
Just to have you here today
Just to have you here today
Seasons change, feelings change
It's been so long since I found you
Yet it seems like yesterday
Seasons change, people change
Seasons change, feelings change
Change the season
Seasons change, people change
Seasons change, feelings change...
