Pentatonix - That's Christmas To Me(#ad)
"Mary Did You Know" is a Christmas carol originally recorded by Michael English and written by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene.
With several versions recorded over the years, Pentatonix’s version was recorded in 2012 and released on October 17, 2014, through RCA Records.
It is the sixth track from their second Christian album, That’s Christmas to Me. Upon its release, "Mary Did You Know" debuted and scored position 26 on the weekly Billboard Hot 100.
It's lyric has been criticized over the years for being shallow and un-biblical but that hasn’t slowed down its popularity.
With over 141 million views on YouTube, no one can deny the fact that the band has a talented crew where vocals are concerned.
With a great vocal coordination, none of them is off-tune or high-pitched than the other.
On December 5, 2014, they performed live at Tysons Corner Center in Virginia, that followed their first live performance at the Highline Ballroom in NYC on December 4, 2014.
Having five voices in one track is not an easy track but the band has mastered the art and released some of the most celebrated tracks of all time.
When the group came together to record and upload their a-cappella covers and mash-ups, they had no idea they would end being the most successful team in the music industry.
However, after successful years of glory, the band is losing AviKaplan (group member) while Kirstin Maldonado has already begun working on her own solo album.
Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying have decided to kick start their project entertaining fans on YouTube.
Nevertheless, the remaining four members are looking to introduce a new voice as Avi departs from the a-cappella band.
Despite being dropped by Epic Records after they won The Sing Off in 2011, the band has done well and celebrated successful records over the years.
