Debbie Gibson - Out Of The Blue(#ad)
"Foolish Beat" is a single by American singer and songwriter Debbie Gibson. She is also an actress and record producer.
She released her debut album in 1987 and it spawned several international hits and was later certified triple Platinum by the RIAA.
One of the songs in that album (Out of the Blue) was "Foolish Beat." Debbie later released another album Electric Youth which was certified double Platinum.
Debbie Gibson is the sole songwriter of all her singles that have reached the Top 20 on most charts.
Debbie was diagnosed with Lyme disease diagnosis back in 2013, and despite this, four years later, she is competing on Dance With the Stars, saying her spirit wants to win it though her body has to keep up which is the most significant part of the competition.
"Foolish Beat" is the first ballad release and fourth single from her first album Out of the Blue. The song was originally recorded in 1987 for the Dream Tour.
This was months prior to its inclusion on the album, and this made Debbie Gibson the youngest individual to write, produce and sing a number one single on her own and this was when the song "Foolish Beat" hit the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on 25th June 1988.
The song reached number nine in the United Kingdom on the UK Singles Chart.
Debbie Gibson re-recorded the song in 2010 as an extra track for Deluxe Edition of Ms. Vocalist a Japan exclusive album.
In the music video for the song, Debbie is seen as a young artist and performer who broke up with her boyfriend, but she is now regretting what she did and wants to get back with him.
The guy brushes off her efforts and at the end of the video, he receives a bouquet of flowers from her, but he drops them in a trash can and walks away.
