Talk Talk - It's My Life(#ad)
“It’s My Life” is one of the significant singles that was produced in the year 1984.
The song is by New wave band Talk Talk by was written by Tim Friese-Greene and Mark Hollis.
“It’s My Life" is a significant advance on the band’s debut album The Party’s Over, which is rather generic 1980 synth pop.
The Talk Talk band started to develop into their signature sound that is centered on Mark Hollis’s wavering voice along with the arrival of band member Tim Friese-Green and the producer.
Tim is responsible for crafting the band’s trademark ‘post-rock’ style a sound that was increasingly defined and rarefied with the successive release of the song.
The song reached number 33 in Germany charts, 32 in New Zealand music charts, 46 in the UK music charts, number 7 in Italy and 25 in France music charts.
It also becomes successful in North America entering number 30 in Canada, top 40 in the USA and notably peaked at number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in the US.
After the single was released in 1984, it was re-released in 1985 in the UK, but this time made only to number 93 on the charts.
However, “It’s my Life” was reissued again to promote the album Natural History and this time made to number 13 on the charts and this was the highest ever chart-placing single of the song and the band.
The single featured on other platforms like the PlayStation 2 and the Rockstar Games video game for PlayStation Portable.
It went on to be featured in other games and PlayStation from there.“It’s My Life” has been viewed over 1, 582, 5550 times on YouTube.
This is the original version of Talk Talk bands, but there is another version of the single that was envisioned by Tim as a statement against the banality of lip-syncing.
Talk Talk - It's My Life - Lyrics
Release Date - 13th January 1984
Album - It's My Life
Funny how I find myself
In love with you
If I could buy my reasoning
I'd pay to lose
One half won't do
I've asked myself
How much do you
Commit yourself?
It's my life
Don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends
(It never ends)
Funny how I blind myself
I never knew
If I was sometimes played upon
Afraid to lose
I'd tell myself
What good you do
Convince myself
It's my life
Don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends
(It never ends)
I've asked myself
How much do you
Commit yourself?
It's my life
Don't you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends
It's my life
Don't you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends
It's my life
Don't you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends
