It was no surprise that Taylor Swift swept the Grammy Awards 2016 held at the Staples Center, L.A on Monday, Feb 16th.Infact Ms Swift went on to become the first woman to win the coveted Album of the Year not once but twice for her albums 1989 (2016) and Fearless (2010), a feat yet to be achieved by any other woman in the music industry, till date.

Bruno Mars finally tasted his success by winning the Record of the Year 2016 for his single “Uptown Funk” and so did the elusive Ed-Sheeran who won the Song of the Year 2016 for “Thinking Out Loud”.

The night was tailor made for Taylor Swift as she also won The Best Music Video of 2016 for her single “Out of the Woods” after her stellar opening performance for the same song earlier in the night.Unlike 2010 when an excited Taylor Swift thanked each and every member of her family, for letting her do what she always wanted to do.

This time she took a ferocious dig at Kanye West, who wanted to sex Taylor Swift in one of his songs from his album The Life of Pablo, released a day before Grammys 2016.

But it was a forgettable night for Adele whose much awaited performance of her record breaking single “Hello” was marred by technical glitches during her ballad and to make things worse she was caught swearing on the mic because of the clamour that happened when her performance began.Perhaps the presence of Lionel Riche on the front row of the audience, made her queasy.

She was not the only one who was disappointed as Kendrick Lamar was denied the Album of the Year by Taylor Swift, but his performance for “alright” was rated the best performance of the Grammy Awards 2016, with many critics calling it a “fiery, thunderbolt performance” as it highlighted racial struggle and police brutality in all levels of the American Society for the last 400 years.

Many still argue that Kendrick Lamar should have won the Album of the Year for his album To Pimp a Butterfly, released early 2015.So did the Beliebers who felt there were not enough nominations for Justin Bieber even though he won the award for the only nomination he received at the Grammy’s 2016, Best Dance Recording
for “Where Are U Now”.

Beliebers where thrilled when Selena Gomez congratulated Justin Bieber on winning his first Grammy Award, who also brought his younger brother Jaxon to the Grammy Awards night, much to the delight of Press and Media covering the event.
